Measure in
1. Start with your room

Changing this example replaces the room, furniture and rug measurements below. Then edit them to match your space.

2. Measure the sofa

Positions use the furniture's top-left corner. The sofa front or bed foot faces the bottom of the drawing. Dining table size excludes chairs.

3. Make room for comfort

These are editable design preferences, not safety, accessibility or building-code standards. The dashed area shows your choices.

4. Try a rug

Sizes below are comparison presets. Actual finished dimensions vary by product.

Alignment centers the rug left-to-right. For sofas and beds, its top edge follows your overlap choice; dining rugs are centered under the table. Turning keeps the rug's center in place.

Compare the familiar sizes

Each comparison uses automatic furniture alignment and tests both 90° orientations. It may differ from your rug's current custom position.

Choose with the room in mind

  1. Measure the room and the outer furniture footprint, including arms or overhangs.
  2. Set the rug coverage and visible-floor border you personally prefer.
  3. Compare sizes, then tape the outline on the floor and test the way you actually move and sit.

A helpful outline, not a verdict

The model includes one main furniture footprint. It does not evaluate doors, other furniture, chair shape, rug thickness, slipping, trip risks, access routes or accessibility. A sofa overlap does not locate its actual legs. Check those details in the room and follow product guidance for an appropriate rug pad.

“Matches your preferences” means only that the rectangles meet the dimensions you entered. It is not a guarantee of comfort or a required design rule.

The planner itself makes no network requests and does not save your entries. Reloading clears them. The surrounding Blogger site may use its own cookies or analytics. To keep a copy, open the printable plan and use your browser's print or PDF option.
